King of the Ammonites Because it was my land before you Israelites came out of Egypt and took it away.
Jephthah We didn't touch your land. When we left Egypt, we tried to go through Edom, but the king of Edom wouldn't let us. Then we tried to go through Moab, but the king of Moab wouldn't let us. Then we tried to go through the land of the Amorites, but King Sihon wouldn't let us. Old Sihon didn't like us, for some reason, so he attacked us. God didn't like that, so He gave us victory over the Amorites and we took their land.
